ZORA
The Collins Family
Adventure
Welcome!
In 2001, after a bout with cancer which left us
feeling that the future was not as certain as we'd thought before, we decided
not to put off our dream......we wanted to take our
daughter and go
sailing for an extended time. We bought our boat Zora in May
2002. She needed a lot of work, but.... with a little help from
friends
and strangers.... we did it! In July 2004 we set sail on our big adventure!
We lived aboard for two years and traveled
from Maine to South America and back. We're back home in Maine
now, staying involved in sailing and the sailing world as we plan
for another longer trip.
On this web site we've chronicled the two-year major refit and
renovation of the boat and shared stories and
photos from the big 2-year cruise. We've gained much knowledge and entertainment from
other sailors' web sites, and we hope that ours will be of some use to others!
Thanks for visiting...
